Enjoy scuba diving courses, snorkel safaris, kayaking, kite surfing, reef fishing, sailing and glass bottom boat trips in the calm waters and reefs.
Alternatively, play beach volleyball or petanque, explore the Cascade Waterfalls, or just lounge with your toes in the sand and watch the sun set over the turquoise waters of Vanuatu.
Yasur Volcano Safari -
Mount Yasur, on the Southern Vanuatu Island of Tanna, is probably the archipelago's most iconic landmark and the most accessible, active volcano in the world. In the local native dialect Yasur means 'Old Man', reflecting this volcano's rich history and importance to the local community.
This stunning Vanuatu volcano is 361 meters above sea level and the crater itself is 300 meters wide and 100 meters deep. Visitors can be driven to within 150 meters of the crater's edge and even walk around the entire perimeter, though you should remember to bring sunscreen and hats if you choose to do so in the heat of the day.
Evening tours enable you to see the volcano during daylight and then the magnificent displays of molten magma at dusk. Words can't adequately describe the thrill and awe of walking to the edge of an active volcano and feeling it rumble beneath your feet! The ‘Old Man' really does offer a once in lifetime experience, so a visit is quite simply a must while in Vanuatu.
Mele Cascade Waterfalls -
Located on the Island of Efate is Vanuatu's biggest village, Mele. It is near Mele that visitors can discover one of Vanuatu's most famous waterfalls, which usually proves an irresistible attraction for anyone travelling through Port Vila.
The short climb up to Mele Cascade rewards travellers with fabulous vistas and a refreshing swim in the cascade's milky blue pools. We recommend wearing sensible shoes for this expedition and bringing a waterproof bag to ensure cameras and other belongings stay dry. Food and drink are available en route courtesy of friendly locals and the picturesque waterfall views and lush tropical flowers and foliage will make this trip an unforgettable part of your holiday in Vanuatu.
